Thanksgiving 2007: North Carolina Style

For Thanksgiving in 2007, we drove down to visit our friend Matt & Becca who were stationed at a Marine base in North Carolina. It was so fun and took the sting out of the fact that this was the first Thanksgiving we would spend without our family.

We had such a fun day of making food, drinking wine, playing Wii with all of Matt's Marine buddies, going out, and driving down to Myrtle Beach. We will never forget our NC Thanksgiving!

Moving to Maryland

We moved to Maryland a few weeks before our wedding. We then flew back to get married and flew to Maryland two days later for Mike to start school on Monday morning! It's been tough, but also a lot of fun so far... here the first few months of getting acquainted in Maryland.

Mike attends the University of Maryland and is part of the first class to attend Shady Grove, a satellite campus.

At first, we did a lot of sight seeing (not so much anymore)

From the Beginning

Mike and I grew up in the same small town; we didn't know each other very well until he and I ended up taking a calculus class together at the local community college. We loved spending time together studying, driving to class, and going to DQ. I think we studied more in this class than any other class, just so we could have an excuse to be together. After the class ended though, we grew apart. Mike moved to Duluth and I moved to Minneapolis for school.

I occasionally visited Mike in Duluth at the house that he and his friends shared. One night we went to a Duluth church parking lot to look at the stars and just be together. I remember telling Mike "I wish I could stay in your arms forever."

With many more adventures between (growing apart, moving into the same apartment building in Minneapolis, and finally moving in together), we decided we needed to be together.
This is our day, that marks the beginning of being in each others arms forever...
