Mike and I grew up in the same small town; we didn't know each other very well until he and I ended up taking a calculus class together at the local community college. We loved spending time together studying, driving to class, and going to DQ. I think we studied more in this class than any other class, just so we could have an excuse to be together. After the class ended though, we grew apart. Mike moved to Duluth and I moved to Minneapolis for school.
I occasionally visited Mike in Duluth at the house that he and his friends shared. One night we went to a Duluth church parking lot to look at the stars and just be together. I remember telling Mike "I wish I could stay in your arms forever."
With many more adventures between (growing apart, moving into the same apartment building in Minneapolis, and finally moving in together), we decided we needed to be together.
This is our day, that marks the beginning of being in each others arms forever...

I love you...
You are my best friend...
Today I give myself to you in marriage...
I promise to encourage and inspire you...
to laugh with you and to comfort you...
in times of sorrow and struggle...
I promise to love you in good times and in bad...
When life seems easy and when it seems hard...
When our love is simple, and when it is an effort...
I promise to cherish you and to always hold you in the highest regard...
These things I give to you today and all of the days of our life.
