Showering Baby Siuta with love

August 14th, 2010 I was honored to throw a baby shower for our good friend Matt and Lori Siuta. We had a yummy tropical themed dinner, played a few baby shower games, and showered mom and dad-to-be with baby essentials for their sweet little girl due on 10-10-10.

WARNING: This post is picture intensive :)

Here comes the Bride.... Congrats Rachel and Dave!

July 31st, Mike and I were honored to attend the wedding of our friends Rachel and Dave Burke. Rachel works with me at DataLab and Dave goes to school with Mike. It was a beautiful wedding. We stayed in Hotel Roanoke with Matt and Lori-- tons of fun! Plus... we got to share our baby news with all of our friends! Good Memories.

I'm Officially Showing!

Until this picture was taken, I really didn't think I was showing yet! I haven't gained any weight and none of my clothes feel much tighter, but I definitely am! I am 9 1/2 weeks right now and we just took the 2 MONTH photo tonight. Mike says he is starting to poke out a bit too-- he isn't.

We are making pizza dip tonight because all I have been craving is PIZZA and I can't have it (gluten in the crust). So we are making it without the crust and I am dipping with chips so I can eat it. Delicious.

Still feeling good outside of exhaustion. I haven't been working out more than 2 or 3 times a week, but hopefully my second trimester will go a little better.

We're having a Baby!

Mike and I found out on July 1, 2010 that we are expecting our first baby in early March of 2011!!

The first sign....

PREGNANT! (I took 8 of them to just be sure....)

The 'Belly' at 1 Month

We had our first appointment with Capitol Women's Care on Thursday, July 29th, 2010. It was so exciting and I was so nervous. I just wanted to see our little growing baby and help everything feel more real for both of us. We had an ultrasound and got to see a growing baby with a strong heartbeat at 8 1/2 weeks.

Miraculous...

I'm feeling pretty good outside of total exhaustion. I sleep a lot and end up taking a lot of afternoon naps during the weekends. Other than that, I have been very lucky. A little nauseous, but nothing a cup of cereal can't handle before I get out of bed.

We are so excited about this new little life. Baby Akers is due March 7th, 2011-- only 2 weeks before Mike will be finished with Pharmacy School! Oh Baby!

The Big 25!

We went to Ocean City, Maryland for Memorial Weekend and to celebrate my turning 25. I needed the beach... I am not all about being a quarter of a century old.

We had such a fun weekend. We stayed in a condo about a block from the boardwalk and beach. Our weekend entailed a lot of evening cocktails, a birthday celebration dinner, card games, beaching it up and people-watching on the board walk.

Enjoy the Moment

First, I have to start out with saying how proud I am of my husband. The time, effort and dedication he has shown in the last 3 years in amazing.

Starting today, it is the last weekend that 'we' will ever spend studying. I can't believe that it is almost coming to an end. Where did this last year go?!?

One more year to go. AHH! It is so difficult for me to not wish this entire year away. But, we have so much to look forward to in between, that I cannot! Vacations home, babies born-- Bree's in July and Lori's in October, Birthdays, Holidays, the thought of trying to start our family. Yes, this year will be good. And I don't want to miss it. This year is the year I begin to savor time. Enjoy the moment.

I have so much to be thankful for in the here-and-now.

Love is in the Air...

From every human being there rises a light that reaches straight to Heaven. When two souls that are destined to be together, find eachother, their streams of light flow together and a single brighter light goes forth from their united being.
