Pumpkin Patch with our Cousin!

Bree, Billy and Will came up this weekend and we went for a train ride to a pumpkin patch on the North Shore Scenic Railroad. It wasn't quite the trip we expected but still a lot of fun to hang out with our cousin!

Jack Update

Jackson is growing so fast! He is crawling all over the place, understanding many of the common words we use, smiling and laughing a lot, has more interest in other babies and friends, and bringing us a lot of joy. What is he not doing? Sleep! But, it is getting better so no complaints I suppose :)

Our beautiful baby...

We love you so much Jackson!

Crawler!

Jackson is crawling. I hope to get a video of it up soon! He is growing so fast. Last week he started to scoot around and now he is crawling, pulling himself up on things and getting into everything he shouldn't. Interested in his toys? No way! He loves to explore and would rather play with my brush or phone than anything he has in his toy baskets. When Mike left for work today, he said "good luck today, he's going to give you a run for your money" and he sure is! Love him so much :)

A Day at the Lake

Late August, we decided to take a trip down to the lake and get some ice cream. It was a bit windy... therefore, we lost Jack's hat to Lake Superior but Super-Daddy rescued it for us. We love our daddy :)

Started the day with story time in bed with daddy...

Went down to the Lake by Fitgers and Jack's hat flew right off!

Jack and I went back up so that we didn't get burnt. Daddy stayed down. This is him after about 20 minutes waiting for the hat to wash ashore. YEAH! Dad is our hero.

Neglect

I realize that I have been very neglectful of blogging, but for good reason! My baby is 6 months as of yesterday and keeps me very busy.

A few updates:
- started sleeping better about 1 week ago when I decided getting up 7 to 8 times a night had to stop!
- is saying ma-ma-ma all of the time (which I love even though I know he doesn't know what it means yet)
- he sitting, rolling and creeping all over the place
- he loves his mama and wants to be near me all of the time
- we spend our day playing and trying to prepare meals most of the time
- we go on outings about 3 times a week to the library, barnes and noble storytime, or other events
- Summer flew by and I have tons of pictures to post, but probably won't get to most of them

I realize as a mother, I want to remember all of this, but what is a great way to do it without actually scrapbooking?? I am terrible at that and it is much too time consuming for me.

any ideas or ways that you preserve your memories besides blogging? I would like something to hold and remember as we go through life.

Eating Solids

Lovin' the Solids

Jackson loves rice cereal. We started giving it to him about 2 weeks ago in hopes that he may sleep for more than 2 to 3 hours at a time. It has helped a little, but he still gets up between 3 and 5 times a night. Hoping this will pass soon and we will all get better sleep! Any suggestions are much appreciated :)

Jackson & Daddy

Jackson and Mike already have such a special relationship. Jackson really responds to Mike's voice and calm demeanor. I am so thankful to have such a wonderful partner to share in our growing family.

One-Month Baby

Things to remember about our one-month old boy:
* weighs between 9 and 10 lbs
* still loves to look/be outside
* legs are getting very chunky
* hates to be diapered or dressed
* loves to cuddle, especially at night
* sleeps most in the late afternoon, not at night yet
* enjoys bath time at night
* smiles only in his sleep or after a good poop - we can't wait for the real thing!!
* will only take a pacifier for a few minutes before spitting it out (not taking a bottle well yet either)
* make the cutest 'O' face when he looks at his daddy

We love you so much Jackson! This month has gone by so fast, I look forward to seeing what another month will bring!

3-Weeks-Old!

3 weeks

Jackson has changed so much already. He is much more alert and aware of his mommy and daddy. He loves to look at our faces, outdoors and at the lights from the television. He has been struggling with some tummy troubles the last few days but we are hoping to get that cleared up soon. He is a very content baby and is growing like a weed. We are very in love with our little boy.
